I love volleyball. Some people may say it is easy but that is just looks they need to get on the court and try to play the sport. It takes courage. It takes strength. It takes a lot of conditioning. The pain you get after bumping the ball is a pain I cannot explain neither can anyone else. Volleyball takes a lot more than what most people would think.
My most recent season ended on Sunday. This year I played competitive volleyball. When you play competitive it runs 9 months out of the year. With competitive you don't have games you have tournaments. They are every other weekend. Also with competitive you have the opportunity to travel to different areas and possibly even different states. My team did not get to go out of state this year. Our last tournament was on Sunday we took 6th out of all of the other 12's teams in our division.
Competitive volleyball was really fun. The bad thing about it is that you have long tiring days. Most tournaments are on Sundays. In there we might have a few three day tournaments. The only three day tournaments are the big (major) tournaments and at these tournaments we could see any age group from 12's to 18's. The biggest tournament is crossroads. At crossroads there are about 116 courts. Almost all the time the courts are being used not one empty one. They have more than two teams per court. Teams come from all over the U.S. to play at crossroads.
Next year I would like to do competitive volleyball again. I liked fivestar but, I want to try different clubs . Fivestar was a good club but, I want to know if there are better clubs. I would like to try some clubs that have differences. Clubs that are different from the rest. Not all clubs are the same they might have different traditions different goals. Places that have their own gym. Teams that play and act like a family, back each other up when they need help.
To conclude, volleyball is my passion, my hobby, and most of all my favorite sport. If you love the sport you play it will not be a burden going to practice or getting up early for the tournaments. I really truly love volleyball but, if I have a team I get along with then it will be a lot better . I want a team that treats me like family. A team that I have no issues with. I am not saying that fivestar was terrible I am saying that I didn't always get a long with my team. When you don't get along with your team it is not fun.
